Frigate NVR - Wow!

Onsite AI Powered Object Recognition using a Google TPU

If you are interested in security systems and haven't heard of Frigate NVR, you will!

I have used Shinobi, and many other NVR solutions.   Pretty much all of them except for the Windows based one that Amcrest, BlueIRIS.

I'm a believer in Linux for always on, headless servers that run for years.   Windows is ok for desktop use but sucks for long term stability.

I have a few Frigate systems that run 0.17-developers versions of Frigate that support the Google TPUs.   They $40 units absolutely tear through AI models and can do effective object recognition while weeding out motion that is irrelevant.
Instead of getting hundreds of notifications on my 12+ cameras, I get maybe a dozen per day.   Many of them are me walking into the camera fields or delivery people or the occassional cat that is found to be acting "human" like.
This software is crazy effective and its not even to rev 1.0 yet!

If you are not grounded in using Linux, it might be a bit overwhelming, but this might be a good time to learn Linux if you want an effective NVR solution.
